English Teacher share live video shot in the Historic Dockyard, Chatham & Dungeness Beach for “Not Everybody Gets To Go To Space” in collaboration with Pinterest Predicts 2025.

English Teacher share a special live performance video as part of the Pinterest Predicts 2025 series which sees the Mercury Prize winning Leeds band perform their song “Not Everybody Gets To Go To Space”.

The Simon Lane directed video is inspired by the Fisherman Aesthetic which Pinterest predicts will be one of the style trends for 2025.

The group were assigned creative control to bring their interpretation of the aesthetic to life in a video set against the vast backdrop of The Historic Dockyard, Chatham & Dungeness Beach. On the video, director Simon Lane says:

“The aim was to create a fisherman aesthetic for Pinterest, letting that guide every creative decision from the epic dockyard location, through styling you can see Lily’s lobster knitwear and art direction with lobster pots, buoys and fishing nets, we had a lot of fun making it!”

On Fisherman Aesthetic Pinterest outline:

Gen Z and Gen X are riding the wave of a new laid-back maritime attitude with cable-knit sweaters, striped tops, and sardine tattoos. Yes, it’s true: Searches are soaring for sardine tattoos. Everything’s fishy here.

The Yorkshire quartet’s biting social commentary and unique musical soundscapes saw their Mercury winning debut album This Could Be Texas (Island) chart at number 8 amid a flurry of 5-star reviews. It has been described as “a landmark debut” (NME), “one of the great debut albums of the 21st century” (The Sunday Times) and “setting (them) up for a long and adventurous career” (UNCUT).

Their stunning ascent continues to reach new levels, with sold out UK and European headline tours recently completed, and the group have recently been shortlisted for BBC Radio 1's Sound Of 2025.

With the world at their feet, the band have their sights firmly set on album number 2.

English Teacher is Lily Fontaine (vocals, rhythm guitar, synth), Douglas Frost (drums, piano, vocals), Nicholas Eden (bass), Lewis Whiting (lead guitar), Blossom Calderone (cello, piano, vocals)
