Farao shares new single "Dreamy Ride" out now via marvaða (UK/EU) & Western Vinyl.

Farao is the musical alias of Norwegian producer Kari Jahnsen, whose sound combines smooth 90s R&B with sensual 80s disco, ambient spiritual jazz, and layers of lush zithers to create her own sonic fantasy. Today Farao is back with new single "Dreamy Ride", which is out now via marvaða (UK/EU) & Western Vinyl.

“Dreamy Ride” offers a moment of calm and closeness, a space where time slows down and the weight of the world lifts. Farao explains her inspiration;

 “I wrote this track when I had an intense need to show the way forward for someone I cared deeply about, who just couldn’t see it themselves. I wanted to steer them in the right direction, so if you ride with me in my 1999 Saab 9-3 I promise a smooth journey”

Farao is the musical alias of Norwegian producer Kari Jahnsen. Her previous releases have received glowing reviews from leading publications such as Pitchfork, NPR, and The New York Times, and debut album “Till It’s All Forgotten” earned her a nomination for Best Composer at Norway’s Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy Awards). 

Jahnsen has also released two albums with the disco duo Ultraflex, who won the Icelandic Music Award for Best Electronic Album. She has performed at top festivals and venues around the world, including Roskilde, SXSW, Øya, and Green Man, building a devoted following across Europe and the U.S.  

Her previous work includes collaborations with legendary mixing engineer Andrew Scheps (Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Adele) across two solo albums that have drawn international acclaim.
