Lilo, Pushpin-collaborator Linfa Kear announces debut EP and shares new single 'American TV'.

Raised in Kent, before relocating to Deptford and immersing herself in that corner of London’s bustling grassroots scene - via regular collaborations with contemporaries Pushpin, and Lilo, her long-in-the-works debut EP How’s Your Mother establishes Linfa as an artist in her own right, and a weaver of all too candid coming-of-age tales.

Produced in close collaboration with producer Joe Futak (Lilo, piglet, Tapir!, Aga Ujma), How’s Your Mother EP lands at a midpoint between Katy J Pearson, Carly Rae Jepsen, and the Buffy The Vampire Slayer Soundtrack. With a wry, whimsical and diaristic indie-pop touch, its four tracks navigate all the all the awkwardnesses of first loves and finding Ex-Boyfriends on Bumble; of crying at the end of F.R.I.E.N.D.S and chance encounters with strangers; the journey to self-acceptance and not quite understanding the novels Virginia Woolf.

Lead single ‘American TV’ offers a glorious and soaring introduction. With a sweetened Americana hue, the track recalls Linfa’s rocky first romance, as she explains:

“American TV is about my first (and greatest) love in life: American TV. I had a friend at the time who had told me it was a giant red flag that I’d cried at the end of Friends but he also grew up in the town where Stars Hollow in Gilmore Girls was based so I think it had an effect on how he viewed it.

Everyone who worked on the EP is also in the bridge on this track which was very special and wholesome."

Her first release since 2023 debut single ‘Warm’, ‘American TV’ comes off early backing from the likes of BBC Introducing Kent, [PIAS] (‘Independent Music Monday’), Dead Good Music, For The Rabbits, Clout and Boogaloo Radio, and follows shows with Langkamer, Enjoyable Listens and Pushpin (she guestled with the later on flute for their sold out shows at The Lexington and Moth Club last year.)
