Man/Woman/Chainsaw

Man/Woman/Chainsaw sign to Fat Possum, announce debut EP, "Eazy Peazy" and share new single "Ode To Clio".

Today, the London-based group Man/Woman/ChainsawBilly Ward (vocals, guitars), Emmie-Mae Avery (vocals, keys/synths), Vera Leppänen (vocals, bass), Clio Starwood (violin), and Lola Cherry (drums), announce their signing to Fat Possum, their debut EP Eazy Peazy, out November 8th, and share the thrilling new single "Ode To Clio."

Already a favorite in the group’s live sets, “Ode to Clio” is a rousing example of  what makes the band so special.

“It took us a year to write and it’s a nonsensical collage of people and relationships we’ve encountered throughout that time - moving from serene to tumultuous, all held together by Clio’s overarching violin melody,”

the band explains.

“We think it’s the centerpiece of the EP, it encapsulates the range of the sound palette we work with.”

Since their debut at 16 years old and across three self-released singles, Man/Woman/Chainsaw have proven themselves as one of the most exciting and unpredictable young acts in the capital, both joyous and raucous in equal measures. Last year’s “What Lucy Found There” was to be their breakthrough, securing attention for the band from the likes of international media outlets, BBC 6 Music and more.

Recently celebrating their 100th gig, this November the band truly come of age with their debut EP landing on the indie taste-maker label Fat Possum Records. Recorded with Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox at Echo Zoo studio in Eastbourne, the group present us with cinematic arrangements, mauled by moments of cacophony; the band’s Billy Ward says of their writing process,

“we thrive on the thin line between pretty and noisy, often trying to jump between the two - it’s that chaos that excites us.”

The group have a busy touring schedule ahead of them, including performances at Green Man Festival, Sea Power's Krankenhaus and a clutch of dates with Captured Tracks' Thus Love.
